Knossos, traditionally called The Palace, is a prominent city in Crete, Greece. It was most notably, ruled by King Minos. King Minos holds belief that his city will remain prosper until the Minotaur prevails, who was enclosed in a Labyrinth, situated beneath the Palace of Knossos. The city also owns a port, known as the Port of Knossos. Mathayus, Layla and Ari journeyed to the city, to acclaim the Sword of Damocles. The Santorini Earthquake in 1450 BC demolished most of the Crete. The Minoan civilization was likely put an end by catastrophic disasters. It was later discovered by a Greek merchant named Minos Kalokairinos and then excavated by Sir Arthur Evans.
