The Soldier Mummies

The Soldier Mummies, or the Soldiers of Amun-Ra, from The Mummy have been guarding in Hamunaptra for over 3000 years.

When summoned from the Golden Book of Amun-Ra, the Soldier Mummies were ordered by Imhotep to kill Rick O'Connell. Only four mummies survived and were ordered from Jonathan Carnahan to kill the mummifed Anck-Su-Namun instead.

In The Mummy Returns they reappear again in the British Museum warehouse so they can get their revenge against Rick and company.

Powers and abilities[]

Honey, what you doing? These guys don't use doors.

Rick O'Connell to Evelyn O'Connell, The Mummy Returns

Soldier Mummies are an extremely dangerous mummy, aside from Imhotep himself. While not sharing their master's virtual invulnerability, they are highly durable, capable of taking multiple, otherwise, fatal blows to their bodies and still keep on coming at their target. A prime example of this was when Ardeth Bay opened fire on one with his Thompson M1928, which cut the mummy in half, leading him to deal with the upper half of the creature. They are extremely agile, as well as fast, capable of keeping up with a double-decker bus on foot and easily capable of scaling surfaces like their master, either on 2 or all 4 limbs. They also show exceptional strength, allowing them to smash through a solid brick wall, crush O'Connell's car under their sheer weight, send a human flying several feet, smash through the metal roof of a bus and easily pull a full grown man across the floor with just one hand.

Like their master, soldiers are capable of letting out an intimidating roar, as well as drop their jaws down to an abnormal length. They also possess the ability to extend claws out of their finger tips to unnaturally long lengths, which act as natural offensive weapons, easily capable of cutting flesh. As soldiers, they possess adept training in a variety of varying ancient weapons, including spears, swords, shields, etc. While Imhotep typically possessed total control over soldiers, the only way to circumvent his command was the use of the Book of Amun-Ra, which had an inscription on the cover, allowing those who could read Ancient Egyptian, the ability to command them, even if they're locked in combat or are about to kill an enemy.
