Hittities were foreign invaders, who infamously occupied Asia Minor. Their empire rose to such heights, riches and glories that threatened the historical, Ancient Egypt. They are mentioned in Christians' Old Testament. Some of the Egyptian letter scrolls reveal that they were formerly known as the Kingdom of Kheta. Scholars have divided their history into two prominent periods, namely; The Old Kingdom and the Hittite Empire. The Hittities flourished under the rule of King Suppiluliuma I and his son Mursilli II but the Hittite Empire fell to the Assyrians after a series of fierce attacks charged by the Sea People and Kaska Tribe. Pollux mentions that his fellowship accompanied Ashur, in a war against the Hittites.
