Omid Djalili, born in Chelsea, London, England, is an actor. He portrays Warden Gad Hassan in the first film of the The Mummy trilogy.

The son of an Iranian reporter and dressmaker, Djalili took up interests in comedy at a young age, attending Holland Park School, followed by the the University of Ulster in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, earning a degree in English and theatre studies. Both of Djalili’s parents are Iranian Bahá'í, as is Djalili.

Djalili has done many comedic television and film roles, going on tour with his standup comedy routines, and enjoys football, backgammon and tennis in his spare time.

As of 1992, Djalili has been married to Annabel Knight, fathering three children with her.
